Poetry is the few steps to the side that the poet takes to see shadows write the world.

The form it takes is of little importance if it makes us feel the hesitation experienced by Christian Bobin’s droplet before shattering in the sink, or the gold fleck in the eye of Sylvie Germain’s character.

Poetry is indispensable to language as it enables us to perceive the density, texture and liquid in which the thoughts of words live.
